Transportation planning

J.M. Teague Engineering & Planning’s transportation plans guide municipal, county, and regional staff in prioritizing and funding improvements to their transportation systems. Our transportation planning projects build upon existing local and regional efforts with new data collection and significant public involvement to provide recommendations that are inclusive of all modes and users. The overarching goals of any transportation plan are to enhance overall multimodal accessibility and connectivity, improve safety through education, enforcement, and engineering, advance walking, bicycling, and transit as economic development investments, and build partnerships and coalitions to promote healthy, active transportation systems.

JMTE’s projects assess factors that affect safety, comfort, access, and connectivity in a transportation system and culminate in concise, user-friendly deliverables designed to be toolboxes for decisive action. Our process always involves collecting relevant traffic data and input from the community to support our recommendations with current information and coordinating with all local and regional transportation stakeholders to keep parties informed of the planning process, ensuring the inclusion of diverse perspectives.
