Access Management

JMTE can facilitate the proper implementation of access management. Access management refers to the regulation of interchanges, intersections, driveways, and median openings to a roadway.  Its purpose is to enable access to land uses while maintaining roadway safety and mobility by means of controlling access location, design, spacing, and operation. Engineers, planners, developers, architects, and citizens all play an important role in access management. The proper implementation of access management to roadways provides a cost-effective means for supporting the mobility, safety, environmental, and preservation goals that are established within transportation plans at the state, metropolitan, and local levels.
